Global Compare Group operates a range of comparison, shopping and consumer websites, including NZ Compare, Broadband Compare, Power Compare, Mobile Compare, PriceMe and Simply Broadband.
Our comparison services are designed to help consumers find and compare products, services and deals. We are commercial businesses, and we believe you should understand how we make money and how commercial relationships do, and don't, affect our comparisons.
Our comparison brands work with providers across categories including broadband, power, mobile and other household services.
When a customer signs up for a product through one of our comparison services, we may receive a fixed fee from the provider.
For example, if you sign up for a broadband plan, the provider may pay us a set amount for introducing you as a new customer.
If you purchase a bundle or multiple utilities, for example, power and broadband, we may receive an additional payment where the additional service generates greater income for the provider.
These payments do not influence where a provider or plan appears in our rankings, comparison tables or results.
Our aim is to show you the relevant options based on the criteria used for each comparison, regardless of how much, or whether, a provider pays us.
PriceMe operates slightly differently.
We may earn money when we send you from PriceMe to a retailer's website. This can be through:
Cost per click (CPC) - This is where a retailer pays us when you click through from PriceMe to their website to shop or browse.
Affiliate commissions - for some retailers, we may receive a percentage of the value of a purchase you make after clicking through from PriceMe.
For example, if you click through to a retailer and subsequently purchase a product, we may receive a small commission based on the total value of your basket, even if that is not the original product you were considering.
These commercial arrangements do not determine our comparison results, rankings or product information.
We also generate revenue through display advertising across our websites.
This can include banners and other advertising placements on category pages and elsewhere across our sites.
Advertising provides additional exposure for businesses, but paying for advertising does not buy a higher ranking, better review or preferential position in our comparison results.
Businesses may pay for additional exposure on our websites in a number of formats.
These placements are clearly marked and highlighted and intended to showcase a product, deal or provider. They are advertising, rather than an indication that the product is the best option available. More details here.
Simply Broadband is different because it is an internet service provider rather than a comparison service.
We earn money when customers subscribe to Simply Broadband and pay for their fibre broadband internet connection.
Simply Broadband is part of Global Compare Group and may also appear on Broadband Compare. We disclose this relationship because we believe consumers should know when a provider we own is included in one of our comparison services.

Commercial relationships may determine how we make money, but they do not determine which product is the best option for you.

We work with many of New Zealand's leading utility and consumer product providers to bring our customers a wide range of products and deals.
However, we don't only list companies that have a commercial relationship with us.
Where appropriate, we may also include providers and plans that do not have a commercial relationship with Global Compare Group. We do this because we believe consumers should have access to useful and informed comparisons rather than only seeing businesses that pay us.
We don't compare absolutely everything
It's important to be clear that our comparison services do not include every provider or every product available in the New Zealand market.
There are a number of reasons for this.
Some providers choose not to have their plans or products listed on comparison websites. Others may not meet the partner and product criteria we use to protect consumers and maintain the quality of our services.
As a result, the results you see on our websites may not represent every option available in the market.
We aim to provide broad, useful and transparent comparisons, but we don't claim that our results contain every provider or product available.
We believe consumers should be able to understand both what we recommend and how we make money.
Our commercial relationships help us provide our comparison services for consumers, but they do not buy favourable rankings, reviews or comparison results.
