We're Dedicated To Helping Households Save Money
Global Compare Group was created by Gavin Male and Alex Grace after experiencing first-hand how difficult it could be to work out which companies offered the best products and services in New Zealand. They found themselves navigating unfamiliar providers, confusing pricing and limited comparison information, making it all too easy to pay more for an inferior outcome.
That experience inspired them to create a fair, informative and helpful company that could make it easier for consumers to understand their options and find better value.
Today, Global Compare Group does both: we help consumers compare products and utility services, and we also provide some of those utility services ourselves. Through brands including NZ Compare, Broadband Compare, Power Compare, Mobile Compare, PriceMe and Simply Broadband, we help households explore their options, compare prices and features, and in some cases buy or sign up directly. We are transparent about the relationships between our businesses and aim to give consumers the information they need to make a confident decision, whether that means choosing one of our services or finding a better option elsewhere.
How Do You Rank Products and Services?
Each of our comparison websites have their own ranking methodology, designed around the factors that matter most for that particular product category.
For broadband and mobile, rankings are largely based on how well a plan matches your individual usage and requirements, while Power Compare and product comparisons place much greater emphasis on price and overall value.

Global Compare Group Editorial Guidelines
Our editorial content is created to help consumers make informed decisions and is based on research, data and information we believe to be accurate and relevant.
NZ Compare and PriceMe are commercial businesses, and we may receive commissions, referral fees or advertising revenue from some of the companies featured on our websites. We clearly identify sponsored content and disclose relevant conflicts of interest, including where a provider is part of the wider Global Compare Group.
Commercial relationships do not guarantee a positive review or recommendation, and we aim to apply fair, consistent and transparent editorial standards to the products and services we cover.
Check out our Editorial Guidelines to find out how we produce our content.
Our Conflict of Interest Policy
We believe transparency is essential to maintaining the trust of our customers. We operate a number of consumer brands and comparison services, and some of the businesses we feature may have commercial or ownership relationships with us.
Our approach is simple. We disclose relevant relationships.
Where a company we feature, compare or recommend is part of Global Compare Group, we aim to make that relationship clear. For example, Simply Broadband is part of Global Compare Group and may be featured on Broadband Compare.

Our Relationship with Simply Broadband
Transparency is important to us.
Simply Broadband is part of Global Compare Group, the company behind consumer comparison and information websites including NZ Compare and Broadband Compare.
Because of this relationship, Simply Broadband may appear on Broadband Compare alongside other broadband providers. We believe it is important that you know about this relationship so you can understand how our businesses are connected when using our comparison services.
You can find out more about this here.
How Do We Make Money?
Global Compare Group generates revenue through a combination of comparison services, customer referrals, subscriptions and advertising.
Our comparison brands, including NZ Compare, Broadband Compare, Power Compare and Mobile Compare, may receive a fee when a customer signs up or switches to a partner. PriceMe earns revenue through cost-per-click and affiliate commissions when customers visit or purchase from retailer partners. We also generate revenue through display advertising, sponsored placements and paid promotional exposure across our websites.
Simply Broadband generates revenue from customers who subscribe to its broadband service.
Commercial relationships do not influence our comparison rankings, reviews or results, which are determined using our published methodologies.
You can find out more about how we generate revenue here.
How We Publish And Moderate Reviews
We publish reviews across a number of our websites. Our aim is to provide a genuine and useful picture of consumers’ experiences. We welcome both positive and negative reviews and do not remove reviews simply because a business disagrees with them.
Consumers submitting a review are required to provide contact details. These details are not necessarily published with the review and allow us to contact the reviewer if we need to clarify their experience or verify a review.
Any review we publish is done so in accordance with our review policies which can be found here.
Got A Complaint?
We value your feedback and take complaints seriously. If you’re unhappy with our service, content, comparison information or the way we have handled an issue, we want to hear from you. Our complaints policy can be found here.
